“The Preceptorship” is an interactive learning model developed by Professor Eva Segelov covering landmark clinical trials in specific cancers, with mentorship from experts in the field. The 1 ½ day workshop will cover landmark clinical trials in rectal cancer. Advanced Life Support 1-Day Course (ALS1)
A one-day course aimed at providing the candidate with the skills and knowledge to manage the patient in the immediate period of crisis. It includes the recognition, assessment and immediate management of the deteriorating patient. Candidates are sent a manual at least two weeks prior to the course to commence preparation for the face-to-face component. This includes those skills for dealing with a cardiac arrest or other medical emergencies in a clinical setting.

Advanced Life Support 2-Day Course (ALS2)
The Royal Melbourne Hospital delivers the course jointly accredited by the Resuscitation Council (UK) and the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC). The course is accredited for quality assurance (QA). This two day internationally accredited course has been developed to standardise the teaching of cardiac arrest and resuscitation management. The ALS course consists of lectures, practical workshops and cardiac arrest scenarios, providing the opportunity to practice skills and apply knowledge.

Mater Education developed the Novice Obstetrics and Gynaecology Prevocational Interactive Clinical Education (NOVICE) course specifically for:
- registered medical officers (RMOs)
- principle house officers (PHOs)
- junior registrars who want to improve their skills in obstetrics and gynaecology procedures.
As a participant you’ll first need to complete some pre-reading. Then, during the course, you’ll observe and perform a variety of obstetrics and gynaecology procedures on realistic simulators, and receive real-time feedback from an experienced instructor. The course includes an immersive simulated obstetric scenario (with debriefing), and will end with a discussion on how to pursue a career in obstetrics and gynaecology.
