This one day workshop will cover many aspects of Addiction Medicine in rural general practice. Learn how to provide and coordinate the best wholistic care to patients with addiction issues.
This workshop is for doctors and nurses involved in emergency care of patients either on a regular or infrequent basis. The workshop will use a variety of teaching methods such as small group case discussions, interactive lectures and practical sessions. Pre reading material will be sent to you 2 weeks prior to the workshop and a reinforcing activity will be sent out 2 weeks after the workshop. You will receive a certificate of attendance once you have returned your completed reinforcing activity.

Presenters:
Dr Rowan is a Addiction Medicine Specialist. He is the Medical Director of The Banyans and a Visiting Medical Officer to the St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital Multidisciplinary Pain Service and to the Wesley Pain and Spine Centre.
Dr Finn is a Senior Medical Officer with the Melaleuca Clinic at the Prince Charles Hospital in Queensland’s Metro North Hospital & Health Service, where he is credentialed in Addiction Medicine. He is a recognized specialist in General Practice and Rural and Remote Medicine.
